The Knowledge Enhancement Program was held September 30 and October 1 in Lebanon, TN. There were 48 people in attendance, which represented 14 different chapters. It was great fun enjoyed by all, with everyone meeting new friends and learning something to help our organization.

Chapter officers are the main attendees, but any chapter member can attend. They may very well be an officer in the future. If not, they can still pass along what has been learned. So, this program is for anyone who wants to understand the basic operation of GWRRA and the role that a member plays to better serve the Chapter and organization.

The GWRRA Motto of 'Friends for Fun, Safety and Knowledge' was emphasized throughout the meeting. There was great participation between the leaders and attendees. In various instances, a good prize (stuffed TWEETY Bird) would be given to someone who had the correct answer/statement concerning the topic being discussed. Roger Crowe from Chapter 'V' was the first one to get this prize. However, if a bad answer/statement was made, then the prize was a PEPE LE PEW stuffed animal. If not mistaken, Ed Grazier from Chapter 'Y' got this first. As time went on, others received prizes also. Edna Lambert from Chapter 'H' kept trying to get a PEPE LE PEW and finally did right at the end of the program on Sunday. She was so very happy.

The program consisted of topics concerning: Leadership, Chapter Structure & Organization, Chapter Finances (interesting items here), Newsletters, Delegation, Staffing, You're An Officer-Now What?, Officer Appointment Procedures, Interviewing Techniques (hum, who knew about this) and How To Increase Chapter Participation. Ken & Julie Zahn, Jeff Liner, Frank Albert and Bob Renner were the speakers covering the above topics.

The Princess (Julie Zahn - see picture) always had some type of trivia game to begin each part of the meetings, with a prize going to the winner. One never knows what to expect from this individual. She is always great in getting people involved.

Needless to say, the most 'FUN' of any of the participants was the 'BUTCH & MIKE DUO'. This was Butch Adkins and Mike Maynor. It was a hilarious experience being around them. There was never a dull moment, even at O'Charlies, where they were the resident table singers for anyone and everyone in the restaurant. Also, note Mike's Sunday's Best Outfit in attached pictures.

If you have never been to one of Ken & Julie Zahn's Leadership Seminars, you have missed out on a great experience of having a good time and learning. Thanks again to Ken, Julie, Jeff, Frank and Bob for their time, teaching and enthusiasm for making a wonderful and worthwhile weekend.
